Professional Counselling Services Kerry

Professional Counselling Service

O’Halloran Counselling Services is a Kerry based counselling and psychotherapy practice facilitating clients in a professional, skilled and confidential way. Established in 2012 with offices in Tralee and Listowel, we offer assistance for a range of personal and mental health issues. Our objective is to empower clients to overcome personal crisis and live full and rewarding lives. We work in collaboration with the client so that you can take back control of your life.

Why Counselling?

Are you feeling stressed, depressed, anxious or alone? Are you going through relationship problems, separation or divorce? Do you think you might have an alcohol, drug or gambling addiction? Have you suffered a bereavement and are finding it hard to cope with the loss? Are you struggling to come to terms with your sexuality, having work-related problems, or suffering with low self-esteem and personal growth issues? If so, you are not alone. One in two people are affected by one or more of these issues but there is help available. Talking is one of the best therapies, and speaking to a professional counsellor can lead you on the road to recovery and help you get your life back on track.

What We Do

O’Halloran Counselling Services provides the non-judgemental, confidential and safe environment to help you confront your problems, and facilitate you to work through and beyond those issues and start living your life to its full potential. We use a range of specific therapies and techniques, tailored to suit the individual client, to best facilitate your journey. Clients will work with their therapist, who is trained to listen attentively and without judgment, in one-to-one sessions where issues are discussed and problems talked through. The therapist will work with the client to help them confront their difficulties and provide ways of enabling the client to get a better understanding of their problems. Through professional and sensitive counselling the client will be empowered to take back charge of their life.

Your First Step

No problem is insurmountable but the first step to overcoming personal crisis is to talk to someone. At O’Halloran Counselling Services, Margaret is ready to take your phone call or receive your email today and start you on the road to recovery. Every inquiry is dealt with in strict confidence and with sensitivity. The initial contact will establish what type of therapy is best suited to help you deal with and overcome your problem, and will determine how many one-to-one sessions might be required. Please contact Margaret at 0860673740 or use the contact form to message her and start your self-help journey today.

HOW MANY SESSIONS?

As every client presenting for counselling is unique it is impossible to determine how many sessions might be required for the client to feel they have worked through their problems and are ready to move on with their life. A client might need as little as two or three sessions or they and the  counsellor might feel they need a greater number of sessions to address the issues.

THERAPIST / CLIENT AGREEMENT

On the first assessment the counsellor will determine how the treatment will advance and how long it may take. A review between client and counsellor is undertaken after every six sessions to evaluate progress, and treatment will only continue by agreement of both parties. There is absolutely no commitment for the client to continue with treatment for any predetermined number of sessions. However, in the best interests of the client’s welfare, termination of treatment should be discussed with the counsellor in advance of it happening.

Sessions last 60 minutes, and are conducted in accordance with the A.P.C.P’s code of practice.
